Sold 246-4244 Pocket watch: Omega rarity, extremely rare steel watch with centre seconds Ref. CK1107, possibly military deck watch, ca. 1947 Ca. The reference 1107 is an absolute rarity. The large size and the extra long seconds hand made it possible to use it as a deck watch with a measuring accuracy of 1/5-second. Only a few examples of this reference have appeared to date. The piece here was probably made for the Italian navy. One of these watches was made especially for the Arab king "KING IBN SEOUD" and bears his mark on the dial. The reference 1107 is one of the most sought-after steel-cased pocket watches today. Another example was auctioned in Geneva in 2019, estimated price 8,000-14,000CHF! (Source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/j3W). The 1107 was available in 2 sizes 38mm and 56mm, probably only the 56mm version was designed for military observation purposes with an extremely long seconds hand and a particularly large 1/5 seconds scale!
