Pocket watch: rarity, extremely rare early chronograph rattrapante with decentral dial and minute repeater, Tiffany Geneva No. 15143, ca. 1870
Ca. Ø54mm, ca. 143g, 18K gold, heavy hunting case à-goutte, signed Tiffany Geneva, case, movement and dial with matching number 15143, glazed movement, extremely rare calibre, minute repeater, split-seconds, signed and numbered enamel dial with scales for hours, minutes and seconds (fine hairline in the hour scale), blued steel hands, in working order. The watch is a rarity. It is one of the ear- liest combinations of chronograph rattrapante and minute repeater from around 1870. Very similar almost matching watches were also made by Patek Philippe in Geneva at the same time. The signature Tiffany Geneva is also interesting! It is very likely that Tiffany Geneva received the movements from Patek Philippe.
