287-4005  Pocket watch: Geneva Ankerchronometer circa 1890 Paul Jeannot Geneva No. 5199

Ca. Ø54mm, ca. 108g, silver case, hunting case pocket watch, case and movement match in number, dome signed, numbered and marked ‘CHRONOMETRE’, movement glazing, Paul Jeannot Ankerchronometer movement, signed and numbered, signed enamel dial (fine hairline crack), steel hands, movement intact, well preserved. Paul Jeannot produced watches in Geneva, Le Locle and La Chaux-de-Fonds. The brand name Paul Jeannot was registered in 1880. For a time, he also held the Paul Perret brand, registered in 1888. The Azur P.J. brand was registered in 1890. In the same year, on 7 July 1890, “Paul Jeannot – Paul Perret – Patent” was registered. In 1892, the P.J. brand was added. The company produced highly complicated watches of high quality.
