287-4022 Pocket watch: rare ‘Tir Cantonal Neuchatelois’ marksman's watch, Cail S.F.C.M dial 1812–1912
Ca. Ø56mm, ca. 123g, silver relief case with gold hinges, precision lever movement, enamel dial, pink gold hands, in working order, presumably made to mark the 100th anniversary. The designation Cail S.F.C.M. refers to the Société Française de Constructions Mécaniques (SFCM), which emerged from the famous Établissements Cail. The dates 1812–1912 mark the company’s centenary, which was often celebrated with a commemorative plaque on locomotives or machinery.
