Ca. Ø56.5mm, ca. 142g, heavy, solid huntingcase, silver with gold hinges, signed C. A. L'Hardy Locle, Russian 84 silver hallmark, case and movement share the same number 56499, dome with Russian signature Andrej Bank in Kazan, fine Swiss lever movement with 2 barrels, independent, sustained center seconds, gold gear train, key-winding, enamel dial, small seconds, independent center seconds, movement requires cleaning. Around 1850, Kazan was one of the Russian centres of watchmaking, with its own observatory. C. A. L'Hardy was a watchmaker who worked in the 19th century in Le Locle, a major centre of the Swiss watch industry. He was the son-in-law of Jules Jürgensen.
