292-4112  Pocket watch: extremely rare Ulysse Nardin chronometer with electric contact mechanism, ca. 1880

Ca. Ø58.5mm, ca. 170g, engine-turned silver case, Ulysse Nardin case hallmark, case and movement bear the same number No. 8600, very fine lever chronometer movement with Geneva stripes and fine regulation, also signed and numbered, signed, original enamel dial (craquelling effect around the edge), blued steel hands, bezel inscribed ‘CONTACT’, next to it a slide and the two contacts for controlling electrical currents at one-second intervals, in good condition, with the movement intact, one contact end bent. The mechanism for controlling electrical currents at one-second intervals is usually found only on some marine chronometers. In pocket watches, this mechanism is extremely rare.
