292-4187 Pocket watch: gold/enamel Lepine, original Lepine Paris with virgule escapement and repeater, ca. 1770
Ca. Ø38mm, ca. 37g, 18K gold, multi-coloured enamelled bezel, patented spring-loaded lid mechanism operated by turning the pendant, dome signed ‘Lepine Horloger du Roy’, Lepine calibre with quarter-hour repeater ‘à-toc’, virgule escapement, original Enamelled dial, inscribed ‘Lepine Invenit et Fecit’, Breguet steel hands; the movement starts up but requires servicing, cleaning and adjustment. These Lepine pocket watches are extremely rare and have already fetched collector’s prices at auctions (https://www.cortrie.de/go/g7b).
