292-4286 ‘Pocket watch/pendant watch’ – museum-quality, large, extremely rare, particularly early heart-shaped enamel watch, ca. 1780
Ca. 49 x 67 mm, approx. 71 g, 18-carat gold, red engine-turned enamel with multicoloured paillons inlays, absolutely sensational quality of enamel, verge movement signed ‘Chailly à Lille’, enamelled dial, gold hands, in working order and very well preserved, case in its original, unrestored condition, museum-quality, extremely rare shaped watch of impressive quality and size. Watches of this quality and size are known only from Cox and Piguet & Meylan, which are now traded at collector’s prices.
