Pocket watch: very fine Louis Audemars "19 lignes" Ankerchronometer, No. 21785, manufactured 1880, with extract from the archives
Ca. Ø53.5mm, ca. 142g, 18K pink gold, hunting case à-goutte, both sides with fine pearl rim, dome with later dedication from 1914, gift for the 20th birthday of John C. Mitchell from his father, case and movement with matching number, glazed movement, very rare movement quality, completely signed and numbered, chronometer balance, special fine adjusting device, 3/4 plate, Geneva striping, screwed gold chatons, 3-part enamel dial, blued steel hands, in very good condition, in working order. The extract from the archives confirms the originality of the watch and that it belonged to a small series of 6 identical chronometers with the numbers 21784-21789, manufactured in 1880 and sold to the Audemars Depot in New York in 1884.

Pocket watch: extremely rare and technically highly interesting heavy astronomical splendour hunting case watch with perpetual calendar and seconde morte, Geneva top quality, J.M. Badollet & Co. No.61159, probably for the Indian market, ca. 1870

Ø57.5mm, ca. 190g, 18K gold, extremely elaborately engraved splendour hunting case watch, typical for the Indian market, hunting case à-goutte, case number 61159, signed and numbered dome, dome with inscribed movement quality, perpetual calendar, independent seconds, moon phase, signed precision lever movement of greatest rarity, all wheels in gold, tandem winding in manner of Mairet, lever movement with special lever, enamel dial, perpetual calendar, moon phase, stoppable independent jumping seconds, dial with 2 small hairlines between the subsidiary dials, overall in very good condition, in working order. The watch is a Geneva top quality. From a technical point of view the combination of perpetual calendar, moon phase and seconde morte is one of the rarest complications. Only a few manufacturers, such as Louis Audemars or even Badollet, have made such excellent movements. According to the preferences of the Indian customers, the cases were either enamelled, set with stones or engraved as elaborately as here. A comparable piece was on the auction: "Exceptional Horological Works of Art" Geneve 2002 (source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/227). Most of these watches were made by Hri. Grandjean & Cie from Le Locle and delivered to India.

Ca. Ø58mm, ca. 148g, 18K gold, hunting case watch à-goutte, very high quality, No. 17880, dome with extraordinary engraving, hunting scene, precision lever movement in top quality with tandem winding, Grande Sonnerie or Petit Sonnerie on demand, quarter hour repeater, extremely fine quality, probably Louis Audemars calibre, original enamel dial, back numbered 17880 and signed Emile Gabus (craquelling between the subsidiary seconds and the rim), pink gold hands, case band with 2 levers for the selection between Grande Sonnerie or Petit Sonnerie, possibility of switching off the repeater, movement intact, repeater intact, striking train complete, overhauling necessary. Inscribed serial number 17880 on the main plate, as well another inscribed number 13806 (probably serial number of Henri Grandjean & Cie.). There is another comparable watch known with this special striking mechanism, signed Henri Grandjean & Cie.. The watch comes from the property of the German Earl of Platen-Hallermund (1875-1944) and has been in the ownership of the donee for decades and has not been used since then. Therefore an overhaul/ revision is urgently necessary!
