205-4247 Pocket watch: important large Breguet souscription No.1286 with special ruby cylinder, made by Breguet himself, sold in 1803 to a friend of the Spanish ambassador in Paris Jose Nicolas de Azara
Ca. Ø62mm, ca. 137g, silver and pink gold, case and movement with Breguet number 1286, case additionally with master's punch Jean-Louis Jolly, fantastically preserved souscription movement, ruby cylinder, temperature compensation, parachute, very well preserved signed enamel dial, screwed, special Breguet steel hand with a filigree tip for accurate reading of the time, in excellent condition, in working order, museum rarity. The watch comes with an extract from the archives confirming the complete originality of the watch. It is also noted in the archives that the ruby cylinder was made by Breguet himself (annotation Cilindre B), which is a rare speciality. An almost matching Souscription in similarly good condition and also equipped with this special hand was sold at Sotheby's for ca. 40,000€ in 2012, Breguet No.2709.
