Ca. Ø48mm, ca. 78g, 18K gold, Oriental pearl inlay on the front, on the reverse, very fine enamel painting and extremely rare Oriental pearl inlay adorning the painting, a small curious detail: the water from the fountain flows from the swan’s beak, English signed verge movement, enamel dial, gold hands, the movement is intact, it requires cleaning. Rundell & Bridge – a prominent British goldsmith and watchmaker: Rundell & Bridge was a British jewellery and goldsmith firm based in London, founded by Philip Rundell (1746–1827) and John Bridge (1755–1834). The firm was established in 1772 and became renowned for its connections to the Royal Family, having served four monarchs: George III, George IV, William IV and Queen Victoria. Rundell & Bridge was regarded as a royal goldsmith and silversmith and created remarkable pieces, including the famous Rundell Tiara, which was made for Princess Alexandra. Their gold and enamel watches are now highly sought-after and highly traded collector’s items (https://www.cortrie.de/go/0eb). The presentation watch from King George to Catherine the Great was also commissioned from Rundell & Bridge (https://www.cortrie.de/go/Deq)
