287-4190 Pocket watch: extremely rare automaton with 5 moves, ‘spinning wheel’, Le Roy Paris, circa 1810
Ca. Ø57.5mm, ca. 132g, heavy 18K gold case (restored on the inner rim), signed Le Roy Paris, verge movement with quarter-hour repeater, glazed automaton on the display side, in the upper section a Jacquemart with two cherubs striking bells with hammers, in the lower section a lady at a spinning wheel with three moving parts: arm, foot on the pedal and spinning wheel, enamel dial, Breguet hands, movement intact and extremely rare. Provenance: Antiquorum Geneva 1992, sold at the time for 28,000 Swiss francs.
