Ø16 mm, 18K gold and platinum, No. 4945, blue engine turned enamel, surrounded with diamonds, winding and hand setting by turning the upper half of the case, fine miniature movement with lever escapement, enamel dial, in excellent condition, blue numerals and red "12", gold hands, corresponding gold brooch with sapphires, in working order, in nearly perfect condition, only the glass is missing. These very fine watches were made in the time of 1865-1920, mainly by Geneva manufacturers, the most famous by Patek Philippe. The enormous publicity for this lovely "Boules de Genève" led to a storm of orders from Royalty from all over the world. Patek Philippe delivered i.a. pieces to Prince Hussein Kamil of Egypt (1887) and Empress Teresa of Brazil (1888); both pieces are illustrated in the catalouge of the "Timepieces of Royalty" exhibition, which took place at the Patek Philippe Museum in autumn 2005.
