Göring, Reich Minister of Aviation, 1935 Both original boxes with original Lange & Söhne No. 663 label, carrying case with strap, ca. 23.5 x 23.5 x 19 cm, inner case with sliding lid and glass cover, NO gimbal suspension, but fixed brass case, case with Lange & Söhne hallmark and serial number 663, spring detent chronometer with helical hairspring, No. 663, silvered dial with power reserve indicator No. 663, gold hands, with movement intact, extremely rare. The chronometer is supplied with an extract from the archives. It is one of 9 special chronometers without a gimbal suspension, commissioned by Hermann Göring, Commander-in-Chief of the German Air Force. Hermann Göring was Reich Minister of Aviation from 1933 to 1945 and, from 1935, Commander-in-Chief of the German Air Force. In these roles, he oversaw the development and deployment of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War, before being replaced by Robert von Greim shortly before the end of the war.
