292-4133 Pocket watch: rare onyx/platinum/gold/diamond dress watch, presumably Cartier for Rozanés Madrid, circa 1920
Ca. Ø45mm, Case in onyx, platinum and 18K gold, with an enamelled bezel; the rim and bow are set with diamonds; typical Cartier crown set with stones; first-class lever movement, comparable to the finest Geneva movements; two numbers beneath the dial, one of which is presumably a reference to Cartier: 55441 and 017717, Dial bearing the dealer’s signature ‘Rozanés’, Breguet-style steel hands, in working order, well preserved, extremely rare. Rozanés was a historic jewellery and retail firm of the early 20th century that sold high-quality watches, jewellery and works of art (often in the Art Deco style), some of which were signed by leading master houses such as Cartier or manufactured specifically for the local market.
