292-4273 Pocket watch: Significant, large Jacquemart figure automaton with striking mechanism on 2 bells, c. 1790
Ca. Ø 65 mm, ca. 179 g, 18K pink gold, dome signed ‘Reymond Frères’, very fine cylinder movement with hour and quarter-hour repeater, mainplate also signed; on the display side, the extremely rare automaton striking visible, nested bells, ‘Jacquemart’, golden figures, small white enamel dial, steel hands, in working order, extremely rare. Jacquemart figure automata with visible bells are among the most expensive variants of figure automata. A distinctive feature of this example is its exceptionally rare size of ca. 65 mm! We are not aware of any other example in this size. Another, equally large example was offered in Geneva in 2019 with an estimated price of 39,000–49,000 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/KoP).
Limit: 13.000 €
Estimate: 40.000 €
