Pocket watch: Patek Philippe rarity, St. George relief watch in 18K gold, ca. 1900
Ca. 49 mm in diameter, ca. 110 g, 18K gold, high relief, another high relief on the inside, case number 225761, movement number 116142, Patek Philippe precision lever movement with moustache lever and fine adjustment, gold dial with enamel cartouches, original hands, excellent condition, in working order. Patek Philippe produced the St. George relief watches mainly in silver and only a few pieces in gold, most of which were in ladies' sizes. Even the silver men's watches have fetched prices between 10,000 and 20,000 Swiss francs/USD. Gold pieces in men's sizes are virtually unheard of.
