292-4339 Pocket watch: extremely rare Breguet deck chronometer ‘GARDE-TEMPS D’ARGENT’, Paris 1832, with certificate
3-piece wooden box with bone plate No. 4877, watch case ca. Ø65mm, approx. 250g, very solid secondary case in silver with gold hinges, original signed Breguet pocket chronometer with spring detent escapement, helical hairspring with diamond endstone, large seconds hand for use as a deck chronometer, engine-turned dial, Breguet steel hands, in working order. The extract from the archives confirms the authenticity of the movement, sold in 1832 to Monsieur Jomard for 1,550 francs. Unfortunately, the original case has been lost. The current case is a faithful replacement of the highest quality. As the dial is unsigned, it is presumably also a faithful replacement dial. Breguet pocket chronometers are extremely rare and are highlights for chronometer collectors.
