292-4038 Pocket watch: Rarity from the Andreas Huber Urania Watch Factory, ‘Double Lever Watch’, ca. 1910
Ca. Ø52mm, ca. 89g, original silver case, serial number 139692, precision lever movement based on Louis Wille’s patent No. 68208, movement number 315141, patented lever escapement, so-called “double lever”, fine adjustment, signed enamel dial(minimal craquelling), blued steel hands, dial signed: Andreas Huber Uhrenfabrik Urania ‘Double Lever Watch’, in working order. Literature: Christoph Prignitz: ‘Doppelanker, a pocket watch with rare technology’. According to this, only six examples are known to exist, including the watch presented here. The subject of the patent was a shock protection mechanism for the balance wheel system, the like of which is not found in any other lever escapement. We previously auctioned another of these watches, number 315150, which realised a price of €3,700.
