292-4257 Pocket watch: extremely rare, early pocket watch with alarm and early minute indicator, Jacques Girod, (Coppet) Geneva, c. 1680
Ca. 59.5 mm in diameter, ca. 193 g, double silver case, outer case with decorative studs, inner case pierced, bell, signed early Geneva verge movement with vase-shaped pillars and early hairspring, alarm, extremely rare original silver dial with 12-division minute markings in 5-minute segments, iron hands, movement intact, a museum-quality rarity. Another alarm watch by this eminent watchmaker was auctioned in Geneva in 2001 and fetched 15,000 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/qqv).
