Lange & Söhne chronometer No. 5870, spring detent chronometer, with extract from the archives 2 cases: outer case is a transport box; inner case ca. 18 x 18 x 18 cm, with company nameplate and number 5870; mahogany, gimbal suspension; brass case also numbered 5870; Spring detent chronometer with helical hairspring, No. 5870, very well-preserved matching dial with power reserve indicator, in working order and in good original condition! According to the extract from the archives, delivered to Berlin in 1947 as reparations. The processing and recording of reparations by the Soviet Military Administration in Germany (SMAD) was carried out in the post-war period by German economic and financial authorities, in particular from 1948 onwards by the Office or Central Administration for Reparations within the German Economic Commission (DWK). 2.500 € - 5.000 €

Lange & Söhne Kriegsmarine chronometer No. 203943B, with extract from the archives Case ca. 18 x 18 x 18 cm, mahogany, company plate No. 203943B, gimbal suspension made of black so-called ‘metal rubber’, Bakelite case, metal back with naval service number M 4177, Anker chronometer calibre 48, very well-preserved matching dial with power reserve indicator, black lacquered hands, movement intact, urgently in need of cleaning. According to an extract from the archives, delivered to the German Naval Observatory (Deutsche Seewarte) of the Kriegsmarine in 1944. As naval chronometers with a naval service number, these are particularly sought-after collector’s items and extremely rare! 2.500 € - 4.500 €

292-4374 Marine chronometer with electrical contact mechanism, extremely rare ‘double chronometer’, GUB Glashütte Ca. 30 x 16 x 15 cm, wooden box, 2 chronometers with brass cases, spring detent chronometers, dials with power reserve indicator, No. 9759, with movement intact, extremely rare. It is believed that G.U.B. produced 35 of these double chronometers, which were used to compare Greenwich Mean Time with sidereal time, and it is assumed that 25 of these were converted into standard marine chronometers, leaving only 10 original examples in existence! 2.500 € - 7.500 €

Lange & Söhne Chronometer No. 5444, Kriegsmarine, with extract from the archives 2 cases: outer case (transport box), inner case ca. 18 x 18 x 18 cm, mahogany, gimbal suspension, Bakelite case, naval service number M3126, Spring detent chronometer with helical hairspring, No. 5444, very well-preserved dial No. 5505, with power reserve indicator, in very good condition, in working order. The extract from the archives confirms its authenticity despite differing numbers and its service with the Kriegsmarine; delivered in February 1945. It is rare to come across such a complete Lange chronometer from the Kriegsmarine. The red protective cover is still included with the transport box! 2.000 € - 6.000 €

292-4379 Pocket watch: superbly preserved Reuge ‘Romance’ musical watch with 2 automatons, 1 x erotic, 20th century Approx. 57 mm in diameter, 18-carat gold-plated, hand-wound, key-wound for the automatons; on the front, the off-centre dial with center seconds; on the front, a figure automaton with 4 figures that come to life at the alarm time; on the back, the concealed erotic figure automaton; as good as new, in working order, with original key! The version with the additional erotic automaton is very rare and was launched in the 1980s as the ‘Romance’ model (https://www.cortrie.de/go/BDY). 2.800 € - 5.000 €

292-4380 Pocket watch: new old stock Hundertwasser designer watch in 18K gold with original box and original leaflet, limited edition, No. 118/999, RRP 24,400 CHF, ca. 1992 Ca. Ø43mm, ca. 74g, curved case in solid 18K gold, blackened (case consists of over 50g of 18K gold), crown set with a ruby, bezel marked with the numerals 1–12, special movement with double-sided time display, based on the Unitas 6497, multicoloured designer dial, multicoloured hands, still in its original protective film on the reverse, original ash wood watch box, which can also be used as a display stand, original brochure for the watch, as good as new. The Unitas 6497 movement has been further developed by lecturers and students at the Swiss Watchmaking School in Biel, enabling a second set of hands on the reverse to run anti-clockwise. Of the planned limited edition of 999 pieces, only 200 have actually been produced to date due to Hundertwasser’s sudden death. The price was 24,400 Swiss francs. 4.200 € - 8.000 €

292-4381 Singing bird box, attributed to Charles Bruguier, silver, ca. 1840 Ca. 98 x 60 x 36 mm, ca. 405 g, magnificent, signed silver case, marked ‘CB’, brass automaton, slide switch on the front to activate the automaton, movement intact. Charles Bruguier (1788–1862) was a famous Swiss watchmaker and master of precision engineering. 292-4386 Travel watch: exquisite French miniature travel watch with 4 enamel paintings and original box, ca. 1880 Ca. 6 cm high, brass case with carrying handle, enamel very fine painting on all sides, depicting children’s motifs of very fine quality, case back and movement bear the same number, No. 131, interesting full plate movement with cylinder escapement, impeccably preserved enamel dial, steel hands, very fine condition, in working order, including original key. 2.500 € - 4.500 €

292-4387 Travel clock: significant, museum-quality, complicated Japy Frères travel clock with songbird automaton, c. 1870 Ca. 30 cm high, with carrying handle, bronze, fire-gilt, signed and numbered movement, Japy Frères No. 4529, self-striking and repeater on bell; housed in the base is the movement for the automaton, which activates on the hour and on demand (by operating the lever in the base plate), enamelled dial, steel hands, extremely rare. The bird and its decoration are still in their original condition. The automaton activates, causing the bird to turn back and forth, but no sound is produced as the bellows are damaged. The striking mechanism also activates; the movement and the automaton require overhaul. The watch has not been used for decades and therefore requires general restoration. According to Antiquorum Geneva, only a ‘handful’ of these automatic travel watches are known to exist and are still in working order today; for example, one was auctioned in Geneva in 2012 for 62,500 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/vN5). 10.000 € - 30.000 €

292-4388 Extremely rare officers’ carriage clock, L’EPÉE “LA CENT CINQUANTENAIRE” – THE TOURBILLON MUSICAL CARRIAGE CLOCK L’Epée, No. 64/150 Ca. 20 × 10.5 × 9.5 cm, gilt, glazed on all sides, side-hinged doors featuring superb, signed Limoges enamel painting, top with a repeater button for checking the time in the dark, musical movement in the base with 2 melodies, highly complicated full plate movement with sonnerie, alarm, day of the week and date display, moon phase and moon age display, the finest technical execution of the ‘TOURBILLON CAROUSSEL’ escapement, hand-engraved plate and bridge, white dial, blued Breguet steel hands, original box, original key, limited to 150 pieces, this is number 64!!! The watch is in unused condition with its original box and is an extremely rare and high-quality special edition marking the company’s 150th anniversary (1839–1989). Should these watches ever reappear on the market, they are traded at collector’s prices; auction result in Geneva in 2011: 37,500 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/94). 12.000 € - 30.000 €
