292-4123 Pocket watch: early deck watch with regulator dial and stop seconds, circa 1830
Ca. Ø62.5mm, ca. 193g, silver, dome signed ‘Francois Allegre & Fils à Toulon’, a lever beneath the bezel to stop the seconds, fine cylinder movement, signed and numbered enamel dial, No. 16, Breguet hands, in working order and well preserved, very rare. The watch is certainly comparable to the rare deck chronometers with regulator dials, which did not always have a chronometer escapement, but some also featured cylinder escapements or duplex escapements.
