292-4388 Extremely rare officers’ carriage clock, L’EPÉE “LA CENT CINQUANTENAIRE” – THE TOURBILLON MUSICAL CARRIAGE CLOCK L’Epée, No. 64/150
Ca. 20 × 10.5 × 9.5 cm, gilt, glazed on all sides, side-hinged doors featuring superb, signed Limoges enamel painting, top with a repeater button for checking the time in the dark, musical movement in the base with 2 melodies, highly complicated full plate movement with sonnerie, alarm, day of the week and date display, moon phase and moon age display, the finest technical execution of the ‘TOURBILLON CAROUSSEL’ escapement, hand-engraved plate and bridge, white dial, blued Breguet steel hands, original box, original key, limited to 150 pieces, this is number 64!!! The watch is in unused condition with its original box and is an extremely rare and high-quality special edition marking the company’s 150th anniversary (1839–1989). Should these watches ever reappear on the market, they are traded at collector’s prices; auction result in Geneva in 2011: 37,500 Swiss francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/94).
