292-4197 Pocket watch: exquisite Geneva gold and enamel verge watch with very fine painting and repeater, ca. 1780
Ca. 46 mm in diameter, 77.5 g, glazed protective case, main case in 18-carat gold, finished in four colours, top-quality enamel painting on the reverse, finest tone slits, bell, verge movement with quarter-hour repeater, movement and dial signed ‘Bordier Geneve’, No. 28014, enamelled dial, gold hands, in very good visual condition; technically, the movement requires a service; striking mechanism intact. Repetition can be set either to sound the bell or as a ‘silent repetition’ via the case button (operated by touch); rare, by a prominent Geneva watchmaker.
