292-4221 Pocket watch: a rarity for the Chinese market, W. Pybus, double-dial with 4 complications, c. 1780
Approx. 61 mm in diameter, ca. 177 g, gilted case, glazed on both sides, dials on both sides, original gem-set decoration on both sides, verge escapement, time display and center seconds on the front, 2ndtime zone, solar and lunar calendars, as well as moon phase and rate indicator; movement intact and very well preserved; in urgent need of cleaning. Pybus is regarded as THE watchmaker for astronomical watches manufactured for the Chinese market.
