292-4120 Pocket watch: Very fine English chronometer, Haley Junior, London 1827
Ca. Ø 58 mm, ca. 196 g, very solid and high-quality silver case with English hallmarks, London 1827, spring detent chronometer with diamond endstone, mainplate signed ‘John Haley No. 139’, special chronometer balance with 2 trapezoidal weights, 2 gold screws and 2 platinum screws, helical hairspring, signed enamel dial with seconds display, original gold hands, in very good visual condition; the movement is fully wound but requires restoration. This is a very rare English chronometer by Haley Junior, presumably the son of the famous Charles Haley, who was regarded as one of the finest London chronometer makers of his time.
