292-4216 Pocket watch: Breguet-type Lepine with repeater, Recordon late Emery, circa 1800
Ca. Ø53.5 mm, ca. 116 g, 18-carat gold, engine-turned, dome signed and numbered No. 3783, Breguet-type calibre with quarter-hour repeater on special tone springs, experimental version of a cylinder escapement, temperature compensation, enamel dial, steel hands, in working order. The watch is signed ‘Recordon late Emery’, which is an extremely rare signature. Louis Recordon took over Josiah Emery’s business and stock in 1796. Emery was one of the most important English watchmakers of the 18th century. Louis Recordon was a business partner of Breguet. In terms of quality, this watch is certainly comparable to watches by Breguet!
